Plant a Tree to Help the Environment

Did you know that now is an excellent time to plant a tree, as long as the ground isn't freezing? Supporting the environment and wildlife and reducing energy bills can be as simple as planting a tree in your yard. Beyond the immediate benefits, planting trees contributes to a healthier future for generations to come. Trees play a vital role in alleviating heat stress, purifying the air, enhancing overall health, and mitigating water pollution and flooding. That’s why Columbus has a goal to increase the tree canopy cover to 40 percent by 2050.

You can play a role in meeting that goal and help the environment by planting a tree on your property. Before you plant a tree in your yard:
