Join the Alzheimer’s Association for a free educational session, “Healthy Living for Your Brain and Body” on Wednesday, May 7, at 1 p.m. at the Fran Ryan Center, located at 865 E Capital St., 43205. This presentation is a great opportunity to learn about the signs and symptoms of Alzheimer’s, and ways to support healthy aging.

Calling All Future Leaders: Apply for City Leaders Academy

Are you in grades 6-9 and want to learn how to make a difference in your city? City Leaders Academy is a free, nine-month program that teaches young people about leadership, local government and how to create positive change. Participants gain skills in public speaking, teamwork, community awareness and more—with guidance from City and community leaders.

Participants must live in the City of Columbus (receiving city trash service counts!) and maintain at least a 2.8 GPA. One participant per household.

Applications open starting today and close June 13. To apply, you’ll need a completed application, a letter of recommendation, two to three short essays (based on grade level) and an interview with program coordinators. Submit your completed application to Alex at AGPassas@columbus.gov or drop it off at 1111 E. Broad St., 43205.
