Help Keep Canada Geese Wild — Don’t Feed Them

Canada geese are a familiar sight around park ponds, but feeding them can do more harm than good. Foods such as bread, corn, chips and popcorn are unhealthy for geese and can contribute to larger populations gathering in one area.

Feeding also causes geese to lose their natural fear of people, which can lead to aggressive behavior, particularly during nesting season (March-June). Large concentrations of geese can also damage parkland, contribute to soil erosion and affect water quality.

Help protect our parks—and the geese that call them home— by enjoying them from a distance and skipping the snacks.

Meet Our New Artists-In-Residence

The Priscilla R. Tyson Cultural Arts Center is excited to welcome Ursula Scheuer and Arris Cohen as its next Artists-in-Residence!

Scheuer will join the Cultural Arts Center from September-December 2026, followed by Cohen from February-June 2027.

Selected from a talented group of applicants, both artists bring unique perspectives and community-focused visions to their residencies. Through the Artist-in-Residence program, they will receive time, space and resources to develop their work while connecting with the Columbus community.
