Park Spotlight: Tuttle Park

Have you visited Tuttle Park? Located at 240 W. Oakland Ave. in the University District community north of downtown, this 48-acre park was named after sports writer George C. Tuttle. The popular park has a community center [ https://columbusrecparks.com/community-center/tuttle/?utm_medium=email&utm_source=govdelivery ], a pool [ https://columbusrecparks.com/wellness/aquatics/?utm_medium=email&utm_source=govdelivery ] and a brand-new 12,000-foot skatepark [ https://columbusrecparks.com/facilities/skate-parks/?utm_medium=email&utm_source=govdelivery ] that just opened in 2022.

Tuttle Park also has new basketball courts, a hockey rink, pickleball overlays, tennis courts, ball diamonds, a playground, a pollinator habitat, a paved .6-mile path and picnic tables. It is adjacent to the Olentangy Trail, which makes it convenient to walk or ride your bike. The park is also close to the Olentangy River for boating and fishing access. Don’t Miss the James “Buster” Douglas Boxing Invitational

Get your family and your friends together to watch the James “Buster” Douglas boxing invitational! This event is slated for Saturday, Nov. 4, at the Bill McDonald Athletic Complex located at 4990 Olentangy River Road, 43214. Doors open at 4:30 p.m., and the event begins at 5:30 p.m. General admission is $10 for those 18 and over, and only $5 for youth ages 8-17. Children under the age of 8 get in free. The Hoover Mudflats Boardwalk will be replaced over the next few years. Make sure you attend the community open house on Tuesday, Nov. 4, from 5-7 p.m. at the Westerville Public Library, located at 126 South State St., Westerville.
