Turkey Bowl Adult Softball Registration Starts Tomorrow

Thanksgiving is coming up, and that means so is the 10th annual Turkey Bowl adult softball tournament! Show your Thanksgiving spirit and support a good cause, $25 from each registration will go toward the Mid-Ohio Food Collective. What are you waiting for? Introducing the 2023-2024 Artists in Residence

Established in 2021, the Artist in Residence program at the Priscilla R. Tyson Cultural Arts Center was built to give artists, designers, actors, musicians, playwrights, dancers and creatives of all mediums a chance to explore their passions during an on-site residency. The latest individuals to join the artists in residence program are Max Adrian and Grace Johnson! Adrian will serve his residency from October 2023 to January 2024, and Johnson will serve her residency from February to May 2024.

Originally from Kansas City, Missouri, Adrian is a textile-based artist who creates soft sculptures, quilts and inflatables using materials such as faux fur, nylon, ripstop, spandex and vinyl. Johnson is a Columbus native who creates cloth-print pieces using plant and dye materials. She organically sources her materials from leftover flower arrangements and even foliage from Westgate Park.

At the end of each residency, the artists will be able to showcase their work in the Priscilla R. Tyson Cultural Arts Center's gallery space.
